With no operational curfews, a jet capable runway, proximity to a rapidly expanding number of freight & logistics operators locating to Palmerston North, and our central North Island location, Palmerston North Airport has rapidly become the third largest express air freight hub in New Zealand behind Auckland and Christchurch. As such, many businesses are recognising the competitive advantages associated with relocating to the region..
Manawatū is a terrific place to do business, with good infrastructure, progressive and innovative local councils, a well-diversified local economy, a skilled workforce and excellent networking opportunities.
We’ve been doing business in Manawatū for over 16 years, making Manawatū & TRC Toyota a proven example of how the location, the people and economy all support business success in our region.
Easy access to the main arterial highways and major freight lines has also drawn the Toyota New Zealand Head Quarters and parts warehouse to Palmerston North, allowing for more efficient delivery of our vehicles, parts, and accessories. Talent in the region is already strong and continues to grow due to our competitive housing market, job opportunities, and rural lifestyle benefits. There is room to grow, and you would struggle to find the build and land opportunities available here in any larger city industrial zone.
The support we’ve received from our customers, community, local government, and other businesses in Manawatū has allowed for a very healthy business environment which reflects the strength of this region.
Central Demolition, which includes Central Environmental Ltd, head office and workshop facilities are based in Feilding. We are currently building a processing facility in the town to offer our services to other contractors and private users, made possible with the amazing support of both Manawatū District Council and Palmerston North City Council.
The Manawatū region has proven to be progressive and stable during the COVID-19 Pandemic over the last few years.
Access to services and transport links is very important to a company like ours. Being based in Feilding has allowed us to efficiently service other regions like Wellington, Whanganui, Wairarapa, Taranaki, and Hawkes Bay.
FoodHQ is a collaboration involving most of New Zealand’s food science and innovation capability. It is headquartered here in Manawatū, with extensive national and international networks. Why Manawatū? Quite simply because it is where our country’s critical mass of food-related expertise and facilities is located. There isn’t anywhere else in Aotearoa with this much talent working on addressing food challenges and seeking to capture value from food opportunities.
The Rangitāne o Manawatū Investment Trust is the post-settlement commercial entity charged with deploying the settlement resources to build future prosperity and wellbeing for whānau, hapu and iwi. In particular the aim is to generate revenue to fund social policy, environmental and cultural activities.
To date the focus has been on a range of property related investments and developments. One of our key strategic priorities is titled “Presence” where we resolve to ensure that Rangitāne public presence in the community is a positive one. One example of this is the Iwi involvement in developing the new Quest Hotel in Palmerston North city which encompasses environmental, commercial and cultural
outcomes and has become a source of pride for Rangitāne beneficiaries.
Rangitāne have been mana whenua of this place since the 1500’s and are committed to the city into our future.
