Electronic card retail spending in Manawatū continues its rise to the year ending December 2022, up 7.5% compared with 10.3% for the rest of New Zealand.

For the December 2022 Quarter, total electronic card spending in the region was $482 million, a 3.5% increase from the December 2021 quarter. Comparatively, total retail spending in New Zealand was $20,505 million.

The breakdown for our regional electronic spending is as follows:

    • Palmerston North city – $406 million (3.2% increase from the Dec 2021 quarter)
    • Manawatū district – $76 million (4.6% increase from the Dec 2021 quarter)
