New Zealand AgriFood Week 2020

Kia ora koutou,

Poipoia te Kakano Kia Puawai
Nurture the seed and it will blossom

I'm thrilled to announce New Zealand AgriFood Week for 2020.

The Week boasts an extensive line-up of events, forums and thought-provoking discussions that delves into the opportunities and challenges faced by our food sector, as well as the research and development, projects and innovative solutions that are meeting these head on; this is about excellence in agrifood and agritech, inspiring the next generation of farmers, scientists, innovators and consumers.

Sitting at the intersection of agriculture, science and technology, New Zealand AgriFood Week is a unique coming together of diverse fields to facilitate future-focused conversations between leading players throughout the entire value chain.Held here in Manawatū, at the epicentre of agrifood, technology and innovation in New Zealand, the Week provides the nation and the world an opportunity to debate, learn, and participate in the future of food, offering fresh, bold perspectives through an array of bespoke events for you to pick and choose from. As we move into the Week’s fifth year, there are some exciting new additions, as well as favourites such as ASB Perspective 2025, with more events to be announced over the coming weeks.

This year's 2020 theme will focus on our reputation in our own back yard. New Zealand is known for its premium food and wine, and we’ve earned a global reputation lauded and championed in overseas markets. But what is New Zealand's agrifood reputation in our communities? What do our local consumers think when they think of the sector? If we can build greater pride, understanding and interest of what's happening within food production and consumption, what impact and outcomes could this have for the future of food in New Zealand?

Join us as we discuss, debate and plan for the future of food in New Zealand and beyond, I'll see you there.

Mā te wā hei manaki,
Linda Stewart
