We know that the biggest barrier to business growth in the region is the ability to attract the right people for the job.

The development of a talent pipeline for the region that includes the attraction of those with the skills and experience our businesses need, the training and development of the people they already have, the recruitment of students to the region, along with an understanding of the future needs of our sectors and businesses is key to the region being able to grow and prosper by 2025, becoming recognised for our exceptional lifestyle and competitive advantages.

Our role at CEDA is to attract people to the region and empower businesses in their recruitment. We lead the strategy for the region and we work closely with partners (see partners page) who are working on their own unique pieces of work.

ManawatuNZ.co.nz  is our regional website and plays a major role in showcasing what its like to live, work, play and do business in the city and region. The website has a useful hub of ‘Live & Work’ content that provides all the information you’ll need about the ultimate lifestyle opportunities on offer.

The Manawatū Talent and Skills Framework provides a basis for collective action to optimise opportunities for the residents and businesses of Manawatū. The framework is focused on achieving the vision of:

“A successful Manawatū economy where employers and employees are supported to access the skills and opportunities they need to thrive.”
