This exciting marketing initiative is a collaboration with industry leaders and other Economic Development Agencies across the country, to deliver a compelling and consistent story promoting New Zealand's tech capabilities to the world. The aim of the Tech Story is to help Aotearoa’s tech businesses grow by attracting investment, talent and increasing exports.
Manawatū has its own Regional Tech Hub which promotes our booming tech sector, appealing lifestyle advantages, success stories and operation and investment opportunities.“The strength of a unified storytelling platform for New Zealand tech means businesses will benefit from greater awareness in global markets. This will help business growth by attracting investment, talent and exports,” says NZTech’s Chief Strategy Officer, Julie Gill.
The tech sector is on a growth trajectory here in Manawatū and while we have visible strength in agri-technology, we need more for this sector in general.
There are over 110 technology companies here in the region that are working across sectors to build the regional productivity through innovation. Pre-tertiary students are building their digital capabilities in the classroom and we have tertiary programmes building the next generation of digital natives. Despite all this great mahi going on building our technology workforce, the sector needs more, including experienced senior technology positions.
“Collaborating with initiatives such as the NZ Tech Story enables our local businesses to get in front of the right people, both domestically and internationally."
"We have so many professional development opportunities here alongside a wonderful lifestyle proposition, this is the perfect platform to promote our thriving local tech hub,” says Talent and Skills Manager, Sara Towers.
Presented by ManawaTech, Techweek is a nationwide series of events celebrating New Zealand innovation. It is a platform for everyone to meet, share ideas and create connections to enhance our future world.
“In Manawatū there is a vibrant collaborative tech ecosystem with solutions to meet the needs of many diverse sectors,” says Steve Pavarno, Executive Officer at ManawaTech.
