If you’re looking to grow your business, CEDA can help.

CEDA has an expert team of Business Growth Advisors who work across the Manawatū-Whanganui region, helping businesses of all sizes and in different sectors to grow.

When you’re working in a business, it’s not always easy to identify the pressure points, know how to streamline or improve processes, or think about long-term strategic planning, among other challenges you may face in the day to day running of a business. That’s where we can help.

When you first meet with a CEDA Business Growth Advisor, they’ll help to identify the challenges, needs and opportunities of your business. Then, they’ll point you in the right direction of what tools, connections, training or development will suit you best. This may be training for business planning, marketing, finance, human resources, business systems, staff management, export development and more.

CEDA is the Regional Business Partner (RBP) for the Manawatū-Whanganui region, and works with Callaghan Innovation, New Zealand Trade and Enterprise and Business Mentors New Zealand to provide services, tools, and connections to training and development to support the growth of businesses in our region.

You may be eligible for Management Capability Development funding, where up to 50% of the cost of your training and development is met through the RBP programme.

First, you’ll need to have a discovery meeting with a CEDA Business Growth Advisor, and your business must also meet these criteria:

  • Have 50 or fewer FTEs
  • Be currently trading
  • Is a privately owned or Māori trust or incorporation or similar organisation managing Māori assets under multiple ownership
  • Demonstrate a willingness and capacity to grow

If you identify as a Māori business, CEDA’s Business Growth Advisors can connect you with specific support, organisations and training and development programmes designed to establish, support and grow Māori businesses and the economy.

As a first step, we’ll need you to register through the Regional Business Partner Network below, and then one of CEDA’s Business Growth Advisors will be in touch.

Growing your workplace?

If you are looking to grow your team, considering a diverse talent pool offers great benefits and opportunities for your business.

Employing international students and migrants offers employers opportunities to access new markets, broaden thinking and perspectives within their company, and engage specialist and sought after skills. Some employers can find the process of employing newcomers to New Zealand challenging but these resources and tools, developed by CEDA in conjunction with Whanganui & Partners and Venture Taranaki, will support you to open up your talent pool. These resources cover everything from breaking down myths and barriers to hiring staff, right through to an induction checklist for how to prepare current staff and welcome newbies into the team.
