Manawatū Quarterly Economic Snapshot September 2025
The September quarter has shown that despite the domestic economy continuing to face headwinds, encouraging signs of progress are beginning to take hold. Consumer demand, though still restrained, is showing early signs of growth; job losses have stabilised with signs of strengthening recruitment intentions emerging; and businesses are feeling more optimistic as interest rates fall and central government activity resumes. The foundations for a stronger recovery in 2026 are steadily being built.
