Is your business in the Manawatū-Whanganui region and looking to grow? CEDA’s Business Support Team have broad networks, they understand the mechanics of business and provide a fresh perspective for business owners.
When a business gets in touch, CEDA’s Business Development Coordinator, Julia, will discuss your needs with you, and connect you with the right support.
The business will then be contacted by a Business Growth Advisor to book them in for a discovery session, which is completely confidential. This is a one-on-one session to determine the needs of your business, along with the potential for opportunities and growth. Factors discussed include business background, challenges the business is facing, through to unique selling points.
“Our role is to support businesses to grow, we help you navigate your business journey by making connections and providing resources, so you have the information you need to make key decisions,” says Julia.
“Our team provides a safe sounding board for you and your business, we will provide an opportunity to sit down and discuss ideas with you, while also providing access to the right tools and resources,” says Julia.
“Often, when business owners come to us, they are bogged down, working in the business, rather than on the business; our Business Support team can provide a different, neutral perspective.”
Businesses may also be eligible for co-funded training opportunities through the Regional Business Partner programme.
Customer Navigator Peter Ellingham works with businesses who are developing new products or technology.
“Often businesses or individuals approach us, looking for guidance as they have a new innovative idea, but are not sure how to turn it into a commercial opportunity,” says Peter.
“We can help with things like IP positioning, connections, and possible funding or co-funding grants.”
Our team provides support for Māori businesses in the region.
“Māori business is a huge growth sector in our economy and there is so much capability in our region,” Mathew Jeanes, Business Growth Advisor says.
“We can provide contacts for Māori business networks, and support, so we encourage you to reach out and tell us what your business needs.”
