Hear from Hi-Tech success NovoLabs on CEDA’s Support

Winning at the New Zealand Hi-Tech Awards was both thrilling and unexpected for NovoLabs, a Palmerston North-based tech company. Competing against over 250 companies, they secured the most awards of any entrant. Founder Andy Shilton, inspired during his time as a professor at Massey University, has led Novolabs to impressive growth, with over 30 UV modules sold into commercial applications and more than 1.5 billion litres of water disinfected since 2022.
 
CEDA's Customer Navigator, Peter Ellingham, has been working closely to support NovoLabs, helping them to navigate government support, secure grants through Callaghan Innovation, and access tax credits. “It’s much more effective to have that human aspect - a sounding board, a coffee meeting - rather than just submitting applications online,” Andy shares. The mentorship and connections offered by CEDA have played a role in helping NovoLabs access the funding and business support resources they needed to grow.
