Manawatū electronic retail card spend grows a solid 8.8%

Electronic card retail spending in Manawatū has continued its rise to the year ending September 2022, with a solid 8.8% increase compared with 7% nationally.

For the September 2022 Quarter, total electronic card spending in the region was $422 million, a 17.2% increase from the September 2021 quarter. Comparatively, total retail spending in New Zealand was $17,840 million.

The breakdown for our regional electronic spending is as follows:

    • Palmerston North city - $354 million (17.1% increase from the Sep 2021 quarter)
    • Manawatū district - $68 million (17.3% increase from the Sep 2021 quarter)
