Be prepared and stay informed – Omicron and the Red traffic light setting

Kia ora koutou,

As we quickly come to terms with the new variant Omicron, and its presence in our country and community, we urge businesses to ensure they are informed and prepared.

Our team of Business Growth Advisors have distilled key information and resources to support your business with understanding and responding to the COVID-19 Protection Framework here, and will continue to keep our COVID-19 Support Hub up-to-date with the latest information as it is released.

To ensure your business is fully equipped to navigate the pandemic as it evolves, we have created a step-by-step checklist for both mandatory and non-mandatory businesses, outlining the required and recommended actions. See our checklist here.

Additionally, we emphasise the need for businesses to have a plan for COVID-19 affecting workers, suppliers, or customers. MBIE have produced business-specific information on how to manage the impact of COVID-19 cases at your workplace including ways to prepare for staff becoming unwell and unable to work.

Many businesses are already feeling the effects of the country moving into the Red traffic light setting, so the need for clear, concise, and reliable information to guide us through the months ahead is essential.

While there are no Omicron-specific funding options available, you may wish to check what other Central Government support is available. Our team of Business Growth Advisors can help you assess what support your business may be eligible for. You can also view the Government’s COVID-19 financial support tool for an overview of the support available to you and your business.

We are proud to be part of the Manawatū business community and are here to support businesses respond to this new environment. It is a fluid and everchanging space, therefore we encourage you to reach out if you have any questions or need to seek support for your business.
