CEDA welcomes Dr Jerry Shearman as new CEO

Dr Jerry Shearman CEDA CEOThe Central Economic Development Agency (CEDA) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr Jerry Shearman as the new Chief Executive.

CEDA board chair Malcolm Bailey says that Jerry brings important skills and experience to the role.

“We are delighted Jerry has accepted the position. Jerry has an impressive background, and we are looking forward to the contribution he will make in the role”.

“The region is on a significant growth trajectory, and CEDA’s work on key projects such as the Central New Zealand Distribution Hub and implementation of the Manawatū Talent Attraction and Retention Strategy are in full swing, so this is a great time for Jerry to be taking the helm”

Dr Shearman says he is looking forward to the challenge.

“I’m passionate about leading the CEDA team and working with our many stakeholders to achieve strong outcomes for the region and to leverage our collective economic strengths and opportunities”.

Dr Shearman will take up the role in January 2022.

Until then interim CEO David Wright will continue to lead the CEDA team. CEDA acknowledges the excellent job David has done over the past few months.
