We're excited to remind you about the launch of He Ara Kotahi, Hei Ara Kōrero - Manawatū’s innovative interactive storytelling platform. If you haven’t explored it yet, now’s the perfect time to dive in.
He Ara Kotahi, Hei Ara Kōrero is a groundbreaking tool developed by Rangitāne o Manawatū and CEDA, offering a unique opportunity to journey back in time and explore the rich history of the Tahuna-ā-Rua area. Through animated stories, video recreations, and audio resources, the platform brings to life six significant historical sites near the Manawatū river.
In two short months, since the launch at the end of May, the site has already captivated 7,294 users, showcasing its value as a resource for our communities. Now with the announcement of six free education toolkits available, the website for He Ara Kotahi, Hei Ara Kōrero can enhance student learning even further.
Christopher Whaiapu from Rangitāne o Manawatū shares, “The great thing about these toolkits is they can be utilised from the classroom, at home, or out on site next to the awa – it’s up to you. We’ve provided resources developed by Rangitāne people, for our people, ensuring they meet educational standards while connecting deeply with our heritage.”
We look forward to seeing how you and your students engage with this exciting new resource.
This kaupapa was made possible through funding from Te Urungi: Cultural Sector Regeneration Fund from Manatū Taonga, the Ministry for Culture and Heritage.
